We dropped off our car due to a loud grating noise from the engine bay, thinking maybe it was the water pump or timing chain; neither of which I wanted to change myself. When Dan told me it was just the alternator and that it would be $280 for the part and an hour of labor to replace it I told him not to do it, that I would do the repair myself. (I got an alternator for $164 and did the job in 30 minutes)

Ultimately he got another phone call and told me we either needed to be done or he'd have to put me on hold. As I realized I would never get a mature response out of him I told him we were done and that we'd never be coming back to his shop he replied with "Thank god!" and hung up on me.

When I heard about this I immediately called Dan to tell him I didn't appreciate how he treated her and the kids and, rather than apologize for any misunderstanding, Dan insisted on talking over me every single time I started to speak, and kept on making a case for how he was right. He also explained to me, as if I'm a child, how friction causes heat, etc. I told him not to speak to me that way and he countered that he doesn't know if I'm a mechanic or work at McDonald's (as if a McDonald's employee is as unaware of basic physics as a toddler.)

Dan is fantastic and goes above and beyond to make his customers happy. Will recommend this place whenever i hear of someone needing some work done.

This shop was a family referral, they just lost us and every family member and neighbor due to how Dan treated us.

However, my issue was with how he treated my wife when she went to pick up the car. He explained that the noise was a faulty bearing in the pulley and that the friction would cause heat, heat could cause a fire, and that if she saw smoke on her drive home to pull over and get away from the car. Fair enough, right? But he didn't leave it at that, as he saw her and my two kids getting into the car he said "Hope it doesn't blow up!" or something to that effect, but said it with enough attitude in his voice and coupled it with such a look as to completely unnerve my wife and one of the kids. He was completely out of line in doing this.

Dan was professional and fast about getting my truck repaired. This is a good shop in my experience. Nobody tried to push extra repairs on me, which is something that will turn me off to a repair shop.

Professional, honest, & reliable. I've been taking my vehicles there for years and have always been treated fair. Never a problem like overcharging or doing work that really doesn't need to be done. If fact I recently got an $800 deduct from the original estimate as the problem turned out to be relatively simple (but unusual). They had a lot of labor invested in troubleshooting and could have charged me the orginal quoted price, and i wouldn't have known the difference, but they made it right with the cost. As I said, honest auto mechanic .... Very happy with this shop.

Dan couldn't handle the fact that he lost out on just ~$400 of business and treated my wife like crap (I guarantee you he wouldn't have acted the same way towards me) and then lacked the business savvy or maturity to deal with my call as he should have.

When I was finally able to get a word in and explain that he could have diffused the whole conversation by immediately apologizing, whether he felt he was right or not (it's basic customer service) he sarcastically said he apologized, but then went on to tell me how he's legally obligated to explain.....etc.

BTW, this was our second time using his shop. The first time they wanted to charge to replace all four spark plug coils as they couldn't determine which one was causing a misfire. I took the car back, bought one coil, and test drove with the new coil on each plug until the misfire went away. It took maybe 20 minutes as it only takes ~1 minute to replace a coil pack.

Dan, the owner of this shop, treats his customers like crap if they choose not to use his services to fix the car.

Always take our vehicles here and they always take care of us
